What does "in the abstracts" mean for soldier in 1777?
Can anyone read this record better than I? It appears to say, "For in the abstracts since July", but I could be mistaken. If I'm correct, then I wonder what does it mean? image is attached, folder is located here: https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/4282/images/miusa1775a_113651-00283?usePUB=true&_phsrc=tfi19&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&pId=1810236

Hi - I believe you read it correctly, but it is a continuation from the line above (Line 13). So, it reads, "Wagoner (driver of a wagon is the assigned duty) not drawn for in abstracts since July." As you can see, this is a pay record. Most of the people listed are getting $2.10, but this guy on Line 13 (Pulley?) is owed $7.10 because he hasn't been paid since July.
Of course, if you're researching Stroud on Line 14, the annotation doesn't apply to him, as it is an overflow from the line above.
That is my interpretation. What do you think? Does it fit with your other research?
