Is anyone able to locate Possahaza, Hungary? It is listed as the birthplace for a relative on their second papers. I was unable to locate it using any of the search engines. The date of birth is 1898. Thank you in advance.

Using the GenTeam.at gazetteer, I found a Pósahaza. The image from the gazetteer below shows the place name in other languages as well. The parish for Pósahaza is Mukacevo, and there are Greek Catholic records for that parish available on FamilySearch (linked). It looks like there are some birth records for 1898 on page 4 of the Mukacevo Greek Catholic records Catalog page, but it's in Russian; perhaps @Ellie Vance can help.

Thank you so much for the response! This is amazing information. I know her husband was from the Mukacevo area so this makes perfect sense.

Just remark, Pósaháza (Павшино) now part of Ukraine (very close to Munkács)

It looks like the catalog entry information is in Russian, but the records themselves for this time frame are in Hungarian. The records are organized by location within the parish. As Charlotte mentioned, records begin on page four in the catalog and are on various microfilms and item numbers. Each item number has the name of the village in the top right hand corner. You'll need to locate the name of the town on the item number to find the records for that year. I've included a picture below as an example. The town will be written as Павшино in Cyrillic. Hope this helps!
