I have Nordic relatives on both sides, and I am wondering when the change from patrynomic (sp?) last
This seems to be happening from about 1800-1850. If some of the daughters are showing the father's last name, should I change all the daughters and sons to using the father's last name? Some church records (especially baptism records) just show the child's first and middle names and the names of parents, but no last name for the child. What do you suggest?

Patronymic last names changed in every generation and it was different for boys and girls. If father was Matts and he had son Andres and daughter Maria, those children were known as Anders Mattsson and Maria Mattsdotter. If father had real familyname than use that lastname for children.
