Looking for help reading a name and death entry in 1907 Lutzk Volhynia Parish
Item No. 103
I'm seeing Pavel Pavlovich Kriger or Krueger from Omalanick, wife Anna Berbari. He was 72 years old born in Warschaw. This is for a mostly German community - would it be Paul for first name?
Does that sound right? I would welcome corrections!
Thanks!
Susanne

Yes, Paul would be the German version of Pavel. The surname is written Kriger, but I think the German version should be Krieger. The place after his name is where he was living at the time, not where he was born. The wife's name looks to me like Anna Barbara Cędrowska. This entry says he was born in Varshavsky uyezd (district)--meaning the Warsaw district within the in Warsaw province/governorate which was part of Congress Poland--and died of old age 23 March 1907 and was buried the 25th.

Thank you very much! Do you know why it says Pavlovich after Paul? Is that part of his name or does it mean something?

Pavlovich is his patronymic meaning that his father's name is also Paul.
