I wonder if there is some on line database for the children of Bristol?

Yes! There are records for the children from the Muller Orphanages. I have studied Mr. Muller before. His story is amazing.
"George Müller cared for 10,000 orphaned children in Bristol during the 19th Century. He never made appeals for money, trusting implicitly in God, he received £1,500,000 in answer to prayer. At present day prices, this would be well over £86,000,000."
They have an "extensive archive of house records of all the orphans that were cared for in the Müller Orphan Homes in Bristol - over 17,000 of them." https://www.mullers.org/orphanrecords
I don't remember which documentary I watched, but I do remember being very impressed. He made some important choices in his life and many children were blessed by his choices. https://www.google.com/search?q=george+muller+youtube&rlz=1C1GCEB_enUS858US858&oq=george+muller+youtube&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l6.3773j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I wonder if they would let the church digtiize their records.

It looks like some of the very old orphanage records for Bristol have been microfilmed, but I can't see that this collection has been.
