What is the purpose of this document?
I can understand enough of the attached film to know it's a proclamation of a marriage
between "Fridrich Hofman, 23, evangelical religion" and "Margaretha Konig, 22, Kathol. Religion". I also have the marriage record from the Illischestie, Bukovina church for the same couple. What was the purpose of this document? It was found in FHL Film 1768050, Frame 267.

The purpose of the document is to record that the engaged couple had their marriage proclaimed the required number of times and that no objections were made to their getting married.
The record states:
61st marriage proclamation certificate [in] 1834
That, in accordance with marriage license #8 ... from 11 Jan 1834, the bachelor Fridrich Hofman, age 23, Evangelical, unmarried, and Margaretha König, age 22, Catholic, both from Illischest, their intention to marry has been announced three times according to regulation, and no objection has been raised; this is hereby officially confirmed.
[Milleschoutz], 26 Jan 1834

Thank you.
Can I assume from this that the marriage took place after 16 Jan 1834?

You're welcome. I found them in an Ancestry tree (linked) that references their Milleschoutz marriage record (linked); that record does not list the marriage date, but it states that proclamations were made in Milleschoutz and in Humora. I looked for Humora in the FamilySearch Catalog and found their actual marriage in the Gurahumora parish: the Gurahumora marriage record (linked, last entry on the right-hand page) states that Fridericus Hoffman, farmer, age 23, not Catholic, unmarried son of Georg and Margaretha, living at 132 Illiszestie, and Margaretha König, age 22, Catholic, unmarried daughter of Sebastian and Margaretha, living at 78 Illiszestie, were married on 28 Jan 1834.

That's great! I had the Millischoutz marriage record but not the Gurahumora record. Thanks again.

You're welcome, @BusterC BusterC! I love that the Gurahumora marriage record lists their parents' names.
