Which raw DNA results should I upload to MyHeritage?
I saw an announcement in today's Lisa Louise Cooke Genealogy Gems newsletter about there only being three days left to "Upload DNA to MyHeritage for FREE Full Access". It seemed like time to stop procrastinating and upload my test results but found that I had to choose which company test to upload. I've tested with three different companies.
Will it make a difference which one I should upload to MyHeritage?

@Darris Williams - at the MyHeritage page they state that they accept downloads of autosomal tests from these companies: Ancestry, FamilyTreeDNA, 23andMe, and Living DNA.

I've tested with three of the four companies. Will it make any difference which one I choose to upload to MyHeritage?

I have been able to upload from two companies.
It appears that once you create a profile, you can upload multiple DNA results.

Thanks for the added info @Joleen Aitchison. I'll go look for that option.

@Darris Williams - Unless your DNA changes from day to day I don't see that it matters which test you transfer.
That said - I admit ignorance as to if the various companies test the same loci on the chromosomes. If they do the results should be identical. @Joleen Aitchison - do you get different matches from your different kits?

@Darris Williams @Robert Givens - my ethnicity estimates from the two tests after upload to MyHeritage do have some slight variations. My understanding is that each company tests, or uses, or views, different areas of the DNA; not all of them, but some. So, MyHeritage can use the data from Ancestry.com, but may not actually read the same blocks. This would cause some differences in the reported results. It is all very interesting!

I uploaded three results. The ethnicity estimates have varied for each. While there is overlap between the tests, there are many differences as well. I have not determined if I have new matches because of it, but it seems theoretically possible. At the very least, matching with results of similar tests should be helped.

My Ancestry kit matches 5,628 people on MyHeratige; my Living DNA kit matches 4,426; my 23andMe matches 6,326. So, it does produce different matches.

MyHeratige categorizes your matches into three catagories: close family, extended family, and distant relatives. Looking at the first two categories, MyHeratige reports 11 and 28 persons for my Ancestry kit, 10 and 25 for my other two kits (23andMe and Living DNA). Extended family appears to mean relations out to about 4th cousin?

It shouldn't matter. If I am not mistaken, AncestryDNA and 23andMe use the same outsourced lab (Quest Diagnostics) for autosomal DNA test processing.

@PadgettChristopher I believe you misunderstand what is common between companies (and what is not). Here is an article that gives information about overlap (and differences) in the SNPs that are reported by the various vendors. When you consider these differences, it might make more sense as to why you might want to upload more than one test to represent yourself in the MyHeratige database. http://www.beholdgenealogy.com/blog/?p=2700

@Thad Thomas - Great article - extremely detailed but provides a lot of info.
