Hi first thank you for replying. I have a 389cm match on ancestry and on heritage I have a 315.7 & a 293.3 . I know the ancestry match & the 293.3 match on heritage are half siblings. The lady that I match on ancestry has a birthday correction on her birth certificate. I have had someone on search squad try and help and have had no luck she just gave up

I'm glad we were able to connect. Hopefully you can find out more on your ancestry in Scotland.

Do you have any close matches in you DNA results like 1st cousin or anyone with 1000 cM ?
Do you have any clues for his identity ?
Were you adopted?

Not adopted but brought up in an orphanage

Thanks for sharing
So the half siblings are a match on maternal or paternal side?
Do they match each other?
Were they raise by their bio parent? adopted ?
Do you have any info on your bio family?
Did the orphanage give you any non identifying info or identifying ?
like how old they were? professions?
Where were you born?
It is hard to find a relative with no information hopefully DNA will help
I am also looking for paternal info with nothing to go on so understand the frustration

So just to sort this out
you match 3 people
person A @ 315 Cm
Person B @ 293 Cm
Person C @ 389 cM
They are all half siblings to each other ??
So you would be
one of these possibly relationships according the number of cM's at DNA painter with person C
- 73%Great-Great-Aunt / Uncle Half Great-Aunt / Uncle Half 1C 1C1R Half Great-Niece / Nephew Great-Great-Niece / Nephew

Do you have a tree based on who you know & their families if not I would start building a tree using these matches & go backwards to see where it all fits

Do you have a tree on Ancestry or my Heritage with those matches added?
If you can find their parents & siblings & add those people thus building out your tree
connect your DNA results to the tree
It takes time to build the tree & figure out where you might fit
Check their "shared matches" under the DNA results then check their connections
If you can get any info from the orphanage then request any paperwork they have in your file
I have a match with 202 cM I have no idea where he fits but I am building his tree out & hope someone might connect
He does not connect to anyone in my tree my siblings do not have him as DNA match
Do not give up checking all possibilities

I've been able to help several people figure out parentage. All of the answers from lynda hill2 are good. My next suggestion is to check shared matches. If you would be be willing to share your AncestryDNA results with me, I might be able to provide more help. My email is bryajw2@hotmail.com.
