How to sort through Austro-Hungarian military records? I am trying to find the service records for an ancestor who served in the Austro-Hungarian army from about 1867. I have his name, regiment and company numbers, birth date, village, etc, but

I am confused how to sort through the records as most do not seem to contain regiment numbers (which would seem to be the easiest way to locate his record.)

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

Thank you for the article. I think I figured out how to narrow down the collection by regiment, although some volumes seem to be missing.
