Create record for unrelated person?
Is there a way to create a record for a person that I am not related to (or do not know of a relationship)? I have gathered military records from multiple sources and want to create a record that links the sources within FS along with the collateral material I have collected. My intention is to create a record that can then be found by an ancestor of these individuals so that they can benefit from my work. I know this is atypical for typical use to find "my ancestors", but I hope it is possible. I have zero intention of pursuing ordinances for these people, that blessing should be reserved for descendants. My first test attempt was to find a source record and attach it to my grandfather, add one of my photos to the memories section, link all the other matching sources and then de-link the new record from my grandfathers record. Dozens+ of my relatives probably got a "New relative found" notice, only to find a missing record. Is this possible or am I using the system for unintended purposes?
That test record is: LYKC-G3P, a British soldier buried in India.
Thanks,
Shawn

FYI
.
Short Answer: 'Yes', you can add them as an "Unconnected" individual/person.
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
.
How do I add an unconnected person to Family Tree?
.
As an aside ...
.
Just REMEMBER (and/or, "Note") the details [including: the 'FamilySearch Person Identifier' (PID)], for future reference.
.
As, they are not connected/linked to your "Ancestral" lines, you may have problems finding them again, if you want to.
.
You can always add them to your list of those you "Watch" (oops, sorry, "Follow").
.
You can find the facility/function/feature to add an "Unconnected" individual/person in 'Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' at the BOTTOM of the "Recents" 'List'.
.
Pictorially ...

.
I hope this helps.
