I am not sure where this is in Sweden. I have checked several parishes starting with Hj and Holland without any success. I have also checked the parish Hallen, in Jämtlaned county, Sweden with no success. I did find that all the children of Halvar Martin Larsen and Karen Andersdotter were born in Onsø Parish, Østfold County, Norway. Notice that in the 1875 census the father is listed at the bottom of the page and it states that he is f (fraværende). He must have been working away from home at that time.
Every record in Norway says the wife Karen Andersdotter is from Sweden. You may want to search the records of emigration when they left Norway and her incoming records to Onsø parish from Sweden.

I cannot find anyplace like that in Sweden, but I may have found your Karin Anderson (Andersdotter) in Sweden.
Let me explain.
Her marriage record of 12 Oct 1858 in Onsøy, Smaalenene, Norway has her father's name as "farmer Anders Eriksen Månserud in Sweden". That record is here (entry 21): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/5751/224 . The marriage record says she was born in Sweden and is 24 years old, so she should be born in around 1834. Swedes, as well as Norwegians, often used a farm name as an identifier, so that people could tell them apart from all the other people in the parish who had the same given name(s) and surname. So Anders Eriksen Månserud probably means he is Anders Eriksen from Månserud.
I found a birth record for Karin Andersdotter in Månserud, Karlanda, Värmland, Sweden. Värmland County in Sweden is just across the border from Østfold County in Norway. Her father is Anders Ersson which is the same name as Eriksson. I am attaching an image of that record.

I followed her through the household records until she moves to Norway in 1855.

This record gives her parent's and siblings names, birthdates and birth places.

Do you have any idea when your 3rd ggm arrived in Norway from Sweden?

There is a good chance that this is your 3rd ggm and might be worth looking into some more.

I found a moving in record for a Karen Andersatter in Onsøy, Norway. Could you take a look at it and see if it may be this Karen Andersdotter? The link is here: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/5751/312 . She is entry 16 in 1856.
Other than the name being the same (Karen Andersdatter) and that she came from Sweden, there isn't much to prove that it is the same person. Is there something else I am missing?
Edit: I think that the last column in the "move-out" portion of the page gives the date of her moving certificate. If it says "23 Oct 1855" then this has to be the same Karen because the date of her certificate from Karlanda, Vämland is 23 Oct. 1855. She has to be the same one!!

Yes! I believe you have found her!! Wow, and you've even included links to census records
This is my first Swedish relative so I'll have to figure out how to read the dates on the record. So here is what I know:
- She was born 2 May 1834
- She had her first child in Onso, Ostfold, Norway in September of 1858 but I don't know exactly when she arrived.
- Like you discovered, she was married to Halvar Martin Larsen the following month, October 12, 1858 - age 24
- In her marriage certificate, her father is listed as "Anders Eriksen"
- On her death certificate, her father is listed as "John Anderson" (I believe this is just an americanized version of his name)
- She immigrated to the US in 1884, according to US census records.

I found the family's move out record from Onsøy, Østfold, Norway.
Halvor is number 8 on the right hand page. He moves to "Amerika" in 1881 and it appears he returns to help his family move in 1884. They are numbers 9-15. The writing is difficult but you should be able to make out their names. Their birth years are in the column to the right of their names.

Keep in mind that any record other than her birth record that lists her birth date is a 'secondary source". Her actual birthdate (see document image above) is 28 March 1834.

Make sure you find her moving records from her birth parish in Sweden. I know there is a note in her marriage records of where her father is living. Her name Karen Andersdotter is a very common name, therefore it is important that you have the correct Karen Andersdotter.

It states her father is living at Mønserød in Sweden. The spelling should be a little different in Sweden. To translate this work to Swedish it could be Mönseröd. However, there is not a parish by this name in Sweden. The place name could be a small place but also a parish. I cannot find a parish by this name in Sweden or it could be spelled differently. Make sure you ceck every possibility and that you find the correct Karen.
