My sister has a different birth record for him 29HC-CKB, she has a source but it is an old family search source and there is no link. She says she has possession of family records with this date, can you help me find him. Is his birthdate 13 September 1819 or is he the person in the link I provided above

My sister also has Jakob Olaus Petersen's father's name listed as Petter Bruste Aursnes KZQ2-PSP, I'd like to know where she got that name does it show up in any of the records, that I've been posting?

1st question:

Marriage record of Jakob Olaus Peterssøn and Tomasine Martha Emanuelsd(atte)r.

Farm names: Jakob-Aursnes; Tomasine-Slettebak.

Father's names: Jakob's father is Peter Jakobss(øn) Aursnes; Tomasine's father is Emanuel Kristoferssøn

 

2nd question:

I believe that the Jakob Olaus Peterssøn in your birth record link is the same Jakob Olaus Peterssøn in the marriage record. Having said that, I would like to see the record your sister has to compare the birth records. Is it possible to get a copy of that and post it here?

 

3rd question:

The parents' names given on the birth record linked above are Jakob Peters(øn) Aursnes and Agnete Jensdatter. Norwegian parishes usually had 2 copies of the same record (in case one was destroyed or lost). That second copy of this birth record is here (entry #26): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/15987/27 . Aursnes is a farm name from Leikanger parish in Møre og Romsdal county. I haven't been able to find a farm with the name Bruste so I don't know what the meaning of that is. I have not seen the name Petter Bruste Aursnes in the records you have been posting, but keep in mind that people's names could change as they moved from one farm to another. Read this article in the Wiki, especially about Farm Names and Farm Names in Local Histories: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Norway_Names_Personal . Some people do put farm names in the Surname field on Family Tree, but it would probably be better to put the farm name as an alternate name in the "Other Information" field. There have been several long discussions in this community about this very thing.

My sister doesn't know where she put the official records that were in her possession. So I appreciate your support in finding this information for myself, and correcting any mistakes that may have been made by someone with dyslexia. :-)
