Our Stake is just beginning to use our Family History Facebook page for more than just announcements about whether or not the FHC is open or when classes are being taught. This week we are trying to tie in with "Día de los Muertos" celebrations. Please come over and see what we are up to! We are open to suggestions for improvement. https://www.facebook.com/familyhistoryoregonsouthcoast/

This page looks great! I would not use the word "genealogist" because it implies more (professional) to me.
This work is all about families and thus I would use the word "Family History", which gets to the "heart" of the matter.

I agree with Patti, but think it's would be appropriate to use genealogy in a place of genealogis. A Facebook page like this is great! It will pop up in people's feeds when there's new posts and act as a reminder. I love the activities too. Went à head and joined your group. My son lives in bend so feel like I have a little connection. I am going to suggest this to our Ward. I love this idea! keep posting things. I may be borrowing your ideas 😉

When we moved, we had to be released as T&FH Leaders but I keep getting whisperings to continue the work. Each week I post on our RS Facebook page, and the T&FH Leader of my new ward is posting them on the EQ Facebook page. You don’t have to have a calling to encourage seeking after our ancestors.
These posts are for October. My FH posts are lined up and ready to go for the rest of the year. (4 images; click "expand post")

I love these! Did you create them yourself? and how did you do it? I am guessing the first one a person can click and be taken to that area in FS, correct?

I am one of two Stake Leads - I'm over 2 wards and one branch. I've done facebook in past and did a newsletter every month, but I felt like I've been hitting a brick wall. I am now working with our Stake T&FH Priesthood leader - I told him we need to have more coordination between the units. With Covid and the closure of FHC all summer and fall, I see what others, like you are doing, and it makes me want to do better on our FB page. I am hoping as thing move forward and coordination improves, I can do something that will help involve others.
Honestly, I do not post much on community, if that is what you were asking.

I haven't use communities much either. Just a peek in my email on Sundays. That's how I saw your posting. I really would like to know how often you post on your FB page? It looks like daily. What kind of response are you getting from you ward members?

You're responding to Patti Householder. It is MichaeleBurris you want to ask these questions, not me. I just made a comment about her FB page.
