Hi all,
I would like to know if the parents of my 4th g-grandparents, Lars Christian Sorensen and Ane Nielsdatter, are listed on this marriage record, #12. Thank you.

Marjorie, no, the marriage does not name their parents. You might begin with reviewing the information in the FamilySearch tree for Lars and Ane. Their parents are not yet added but it's a good start to see their family. The 1845 census indicates Lars was born in Bjergby Parish and Ane born in Taars Parish. I'm going to share some documents for you and others to consider as parents and siblings of Lars Christian Sørensen. I believe these are Lars parents, Søren and Anne Kirstine. Søren will be seen in various records with various names such as Søren Barkalt (Borrisholt) in the military levying rolls listing his sons. Borrisholt is a village in Astrup parish. (neighbors Bjergby) In the marriage record for Laurs we see he's from Borresholt in Astrup. Søren Christensen 1787 censusThe location of Lars in 1801 matches the military levying roll record stating he lives in Saxtrup. Lars Sørensen 1801 census Saxtrup, Bjergby

1789 christening record for Lars Christian names father as Søren Toplund of Snevre. We see this matching location of Snevre on military roll entries for Lars. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=160201#160201,26929022 1789 Lars Christian Sørensen christening

The military roll follows Lars from 1789 to 1824.

Military levying roll records starting in 1789 listing Lars as 3 but that age is incorrect.

Here is a possible christening for Anne. More study would be required to make a solid case this is the right person. A study of who attends the christenings of her children would be a good idea. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?bsid=170974#170974,28699615

Thank you for all of this, Shari! The christening document is a fabulous find! I found an 1801 census with a Lars Sorensen, but he was listed as a foster child, so I wasn't sure where to go from there with him. The age was right, and the location fit, but...

I find (for obvious reasons) it so much easier to navigate on the DanishFamilySearch site than the sa.dk site. And I've yet to really figure out the military rolls.

One thing I started doing was taking all the sources on the FamilySearch tree for each person, and create a spreadsheet, listing them all, then reviewing them to see if they actually fit the person I'm researching. This has helped a great deal. I completed it for Lars' son, my 2nd g-grandfather, Christian Nielsen, but just finished entering all the sources into the spreadsheet for Lars.

Your links are all very helpful and give me much more to work through. Thank you again!

    Margie
