Did this family move from Borgund, Møre og Romsdal, Norway to somewhere else in Møre og Romsdal, Nor

Need help figuring out this family. The Mom's name is nearly the same in the sources, yet I'm having difficulty finding the younger children listed in the research helps. They are not listed in the Borgund, Møre og Romsdal, Norway digital archives. Yet the Mom's names are so similar that it seems like Anna and Hanna are the same person. The only record I can find is the family search research help section under record hints. If someone could find one of the kids born in a different town or christened at a different church, then I might be able to find the rest of them. Thanks in advance. Please look at all the sources that I found today.

Have you found them on the 1900 and 1910 censuses? I didn't see those attached.

I have been having a hard time finding the census for this area, as it changed names several times. Since they’re not in the parish records they may have left that church congregation and moved. If you could help me find the censuses that would be awesome!

Here is the family in the 1900 Census. https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01037387000502 .
This 1875 Census shows Peter Jacobsen as a young man with his family. There are 2 children in this census that don't show up in Family Search tree: Emanuel born in 1863 and another Jensine born in 1860. That record is here: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052337001299 . I thought that you might want to add them in.
You can search in the Norwegian records here: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/search/persons/advanced .
Under "Individual Information" it is best to search for names with just a few letters and an *. For example search for Peter Jacobson like this (First name) Pe* and (Last name) Ja* and you will get more results. Under "Category" you can ask for just Censuses (even specific Censuses, if you wish), or church books, and what kind of information in the church books. Under "Geography" you can narrow the results to a certain County or Parish if you know the parish you want to look at. Remember that less (information in the search) is more (results). If you get too many results, then add more information to narrow the list down.

Thank you so much. I will definitely add this information to my records and do some more research. Thanks again for your awesome input!😁

@Norm Baker I've taken a little time to look into the census records you gave me last week. First of all thanks for the tips on how to search the Digital Archive, I've been putting way too much information in and coming up with zero results, so I went back to the old version, and just try to decipher old hand writing. It's nice to finally know how to use the new digital search. I have had that page saved, but had so many problems searching on it. I will definitely try fewer letters to find more results. Thank you.
Second, The Jensine born in 1860 on the census, I'll have to research some more. As the Jensine I have listed is born in 1852 according to the parish record source my sister Allison found. I will look and see if I can find a childhood death for Jensine 1852, and birth record for Jensine 1860. My sister has a retired link on the sources, can you please look at this official record link https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/2257/14258/22 entry #39, or this copy record link https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/16014/91773/46 entry #45. Is this the Jensine 1852 that I'm looking for? Is this the record my sister is refrencing? I cannot seem to even read the priests handwriting.
Third, I believe the Emanuel Jakobsen born in 1863 could possibly by the Johannes Emanuel Jakobsen born in 1864 on my family search record. MXDX-TB7 family file number. What do you think?
Thanks in advance for help in this record. Looks like I need to learn how to read 1800-1850 handwriting. LOL

I found the digitized version of Jensine 1852, listed as Jensine Christofa born 2 Aug, and Baptized 3 October, to parents Peter Jacobsen, and Thomasine Emanuelsdatter at Slettebak farm. I believe this is the correct person. You can double check for me if you like. I looked through many versions, Official, Copy, Digital, different municipalities in Borgund and could find no death record for Jensine between 1852 and 1862. If there was a younger Jensine in 1860 I haven't been able to find her yet.

One more item, the Marriage of Jakob Olaus Petersen (29HC-CKB) and Thomasine Martha Emanuelsdatter(ML41-ZFZ). I have Petter Bruste Aursnes listed as Jakobs father, and I just have the name Emenuel as Thomasine's father.
scanned record https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/2256/14254/8
digitized record has a different name for the wife, https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000009321883
If this is the correct record in both forms, can you help me verify that the names are correct in the digitized form so that i can understand the spellings better. The digitized version doesn't have the name Thomasine, it only has her middle name of Marte and her last name Emanuelsdatter.
Thanks again.

P.S. should I post this on the general page instead of in this thread?

For your first question, both of the records are for the same person, Jensine Kristofa Jakobsdatter born 2 August 1852 and christened 3 October 1852. Parents are Jakob Petersen and Thomasine Em(m)anuelsdatter of Slettebak farm. Olaf Rygh's book Norwegian Farm Names indicates that Slettebak farm is in Skodje parish, Møre og Romsdal county. That isn't really a problem, though, because Borgund and Skodje are neighboring parishes.
As far as Johannes Emanuel Jakobsen, they must be the same person. A census is a secondary source for births. Being 1 year off from the census to the birth record, is acceptable.
As far as reading the old records, there is a series of really good videos by Geoff Morris at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City that are very helpful to anyone who is serious about reading the old Gothic script. The videos are about Swedish records, but they apply to Norway, Finland and Denmark as well. Here is a link to those videos: https://swedishgenealogyguide.com/learning-center . If you start with the first video and then watch each in turn, you will get a pretty comprehensive course on reading the script.

The (official) marriage record lists Jakob Olaus Petersen's father as Peter Jacobsen Aursnes (Aursnes is a farm in Leikanger parish in Møre og Romsdal county) and Thomasine Marte Emanuelsdatter's father is Emanuel Kristofersen.
If you post questions to the general Nordic page, others will have an opportunity to look at them. There are some really good Norwegian researchers in the Nordic community.
On another note, I did a search for children born to Jakob Petersen and Thomasine Emanuelsdatter in Møre og Romsdal county and came up with a list that may interest you. I was particularly looking for a Jensine born in 1860. I didn't come up with her (a little more on that in a bit) but I did come up with 12 children born to them in either Borgund or Skodje parishes. You can see that list with this link: https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?q.birthLikeDate.from=1840&q.birthLikeDate.to=1870&q.fatherGivenName=jakob&q.fatherSurname=petersen&q.motherGivenName=thomasine&q.motherSurname=emmanuelsdatter&f.recordCountry=Norway&f.recordSubcountry=Norway,Møre og Romsdal&offset=0&m.defaultFacets=on&m.queryRequireDefault=on&m.facetNestCollectionInCategory=on&count=20 .
As far as Jensine born in 1860, I believe that was an error in the census. I looked up the original census (rather than the indexed version) and it looks like someone wrote 1860 and then wrote a 5 over the six, which can be seen here: https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/52337/329 . The birth year 1850 is not 1852, but is really close enough for a census.
Another reason to think that Jensine wasn't deceased is that in my searching for her, I found a Jensine Jakobsdatter who gives birth to a son on 9 July 1880. That record is here (Nils Adolph #73): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/2676/18 . This Jensine is born in 1852 and two of the witnesses have names that match up with her brothers, Emmanuel Jakobsen and Ole Jakobsen both from Slettebakke. This really needs to be proved before adding it into Family Search Tree, but it is something worth looking at in my opinion.

Thank you again. I realized after the fact that I put my questions in a personal text instead of the group section. I’ll do it the group way in the future. I really appreciate your help with this family. It’s good to be able to add the fathers of the bride and groom and more kids. Thanks again for your support.

You may want to look at the 1900 census for Skodje: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01037387000502
Also, I have seen the names Anna and Hanna both for the sam person. Not often, but it has happened.

Thank you for the reply. I was able to get the information. Hanna Karen Rebekka Martinusdatter is listed as Hanna in birth and confirmation records but Anna Karen Rebekka Martinusdatter in the marriage record. She is listed as Hanna for some of the kids and Anna for others, as well as on different census records. Both Hanna and Anna have the same birth and christening dates and places, and farm names, and parents names. She had 9 children. 3 sets of twins, and 3 single births. Her youngest was stillborn and she died from eclampsia the next day. She was 34. It’s a sad story, but I’m grateful I got to know a little of her history. They had moved from Nakken farm to Tyssebru farm. I found them in the census. And the parish records although the church was the same, for some reason the records for her younger children were found in Trondhiem or Oslo, without the parish name, just the county name. Yet the church was the same. It was a merry chase. But we got it done. Thanks again!
