No idea why you were rejected. You should be accepted since you are doing Dutch family history work.

I hope I am accepted again for this group. It is funny to get a rejection notice. I have done two familysearch missions, one when newfamilysearch was being developed and one when family tree was being developed in familysearch. that was an interesting time trying to answer questions from around the world while our engineers were working on this program.

@Gerry Peter van der Struys, you are still listed as a member of the group (see https://community.familysearch.org/s/relatedlist/0F93A000000LhueSAC/GroupMembers). What indication did you have that you were no longer in the group?

Thank you, just that somebody wrote to me that my application was rejected for this group, which triggered my response. I am glad that I am still connected to my mother country.

I'm glad that you posted on here so we could get it sorted out! But yes, you are still in the group, and we are happy to have you!

Is there an application to be part of this group?

This sounds like a fishing scheme: "Hi, I'm from this website you visit, you application has been rejected." Then they provide a link to a copy of the website, when you enter your password, they store it and link you to the actual website.

I'm not saying that's what happened, but it never hurts to check.

I agree, it's best to check. Gerry, was it some sort of email you received? Could you post a picture of what was written?

Yes it was an e-mail, but I have already deleted it so I can't send you this e-mail, sorry.

You also emptied the bin? If not, you might find it there.

    For your own security:

Did you click any link in the email?

If so, did it ask for a login? (for example: familysearch which has a login.)

If you filled in a login, I would consider the password you used as non-secure.

Coincidentally I have ancestors from Texel- if yours were Catholic then we're almost certainly related. And I live in New Zealand as well, though I was born here.

My father was born in Vlaardingen and my mother in Krommenie, I was born in Kogenpolder, gemeente Akersloot. we moved to Texel in 1947 where my father was employed for the rebuild, he was an architect. And there we stayed

This sounds like fraud to me too. I am actually glad to see the post here because it reminds us all to beware of emails that don't sound quite right.

Also have a look at the free recorded webinars that FS produced. The link is off to the right in blue: - Learn to Read Dutch Records

The following three links show you various letter variants.

    Hope these help.
