What does it say in parathesis after Hans Erhardt?

The second witness is Margaretha, legal wife of the local Hanß Erhardt's (who is called Geyer Hanß [den man Geyer Hanß nennet]).
In Barbara's sister Catharina's 12 Dec 1658 baptismal record, though, he is just listed as Hanß Erhardt.

That's what I thought it said but it was confusing. There are also Hanss Geyers in town. This priest puts surnames first a good share of the time so I don't know if it is Geyer Hanss or Hanss Geyer. I looked up the word Geyer but found nothing. I was thinking it could be a descriptive name like blacksmith, farmer, etc. Do you have any ideas about this?

That's so interesting. The website I linked Geyer to states two potential meanings: (1) a nickname for a greedy person or a food addict, and (2) someone who lives in or near a specific type of house, in Cologne, Strasbourg, Erfurt, and elsewhere. From just this record, I don't know which meaning is intended.

Thanks. I'll just go with the thought that Geyer here is used as a descriptive word, sort of a nickname,...not a formal name.
