Emigration by Tennent to Rhodesia
Hello
Archibald William Tennent arrived in Rhodesia in 1921 to start farming. His wife Mary Dick (née Samuel) arrived in 1922. They apparently worked Kelvin Farms, Headlands for 50+ years up to his death 1973.
His sons were Hugh Alasdair b.1923; and Robin Munro b.1926.
Hugh married Stella Margaret (née Anderson) in 1947, and had 2 daughters Doreen Mary and Lorraine Margaret; and 2 sons Kevin Hugh and Stuart William.
Robin married Helen Sonya (née Wood) in 1953 and had two sons Ian Douglas, and David Norman.
The above was found in my mother's scrap book.
Can anyone confirm the these names and dates and even provide further information.
I realise that Rhodesia became Zimbadwe, and went through some difficult times trying to rebalance the colonial past in general and white owned farms in particular.
Past records may be now difficult to find.
Any information gratefully received.

Here are a few records on FamilySearch that might be useful to you if you haven't reviewed them already. Keep in mind, only some of the information has been indexed. So be sure to review the images carefully.

Here is a link to Rhodesian voter records on FamilySearch. These are a gold mine of useful information. Starting with this first image on Archibald William, keep scrolling for about 65 pages through all of the files for the Tennent family. You'll see files for most of the people you have listed in your message.

FYI - the voter records are not searchable by name. However, there is an ongoing project to index these records. If you'd like to help, go the the indexing page and look for this project: Rhodesia—Voter Registration, 1938–1973. https://www.familysearch.org/indexing/my-indexing
Good luck with your research!
