Ole Wang 1865 census: What do you think marks before Alberthine Wang and Anne Olsen indicate?
Is it "2) Albethine Wang and 1) Anne Olsen?" Mother/daughter? Or do the numbers belong to Ole and Anne indicating # of marriage?
Context: Girls are "hans datter" rather than "deres datter" and wife Anne is listed AFTER girls indicating possibly a second marriage for Ole with girls product of first marr. The 1910 US census Ole says marr 2x, Anne marr 1x. Maybe the 2) is for Ole marr. and 1) for Anne # marr.?

The census recorder was not very clear on this one. Ole Wang head of household age 30, male born at Nes at Romerike, married, owner and working at a factory.
wife Anne Olsen, age 34 born in Skien, married
daughters:
Albertine Wang age 7, born Østre Aker, unmarried
Ovidie Wang age 6, born Østre Aker, unmarried
This family lived at 0139 Fjeldgaden, Waageby in Deleneng,Østre Aker

I would suspect this was a 2nd marriage, and would look up the daughters’ christening records to see who was listed as mother. If it’s different, you can search a few years of death and marriage records to find the mother’s death and the 2nd marriage.

It does not say anything about a second marriage. The records often say his children instead of theirs in a census record this early. You may want to check the christening records for Øster Aker for the children. Østre Aker was in the combined Aker parish prior to 1860. Also Østre Aker was also included in Vesdtre Aker prior to 1860.
