My grandfather Robert Johnson Black American, born Virginia 25th March 1894 to Robert Johnson Black
Referred by admin to @Virginia Genealogy Research @Adoption and Unknown Family Research @Military Records
My Grandfather married my Grandmother Rosina Drake nee Barber, who was white English, sadly he passed away 1924, without my father knowing him as he was only two. I have been trying for years, to find family connections. All I have is he came with the USA forces on the ship, he was a driver here in the American embassy. then became a driver for a London firm. I have his landing papers, and a couple of pictures. I would be really grateful if anybody could point me in the right direction to find lost family.

Christine, there are ways to find members of the U.S. military. I am presuming that you have your father's name from the papers?
One place that you can try to search is FamilyTreeNow.com. This site has nothing to do with FamilySearch or the FamilyTree at FamilySearch.
I don't know if that site is accessible from outside of the United States. You may want to ask for a volunteer on this site to do a little searching behind the scenes.

hi @Christinebright I could try to do some research for you. His name was Robert Johnson? Do you know his parents names or his wife or any other relatives I could use as a reference in my research?
