Indexing Question

Hi!

I am indexing in the Orebro, Sweden, Church Records and came across two 1775 death records that is making me very curious.

The first record is for a 16-year-old Olof Norling and the second is for a 14-year-old Johan Ekman.

The first column of the image is labeled "Sjukdom", the second "Döds- Dag och Ort", the third "Alder", the fourth "Begrafnings-Dag".

Orebro Indexing Death Record Question

I am thinking these two boys died (possibly drowned) in "Norra Sjön."

Am I correct?

Thanks!

They probably did drown, but the "sjukdom" (sickness) column says something about they "arrived under the ice"-probably "fell through the ice". The second column is the "death date and place" and it reads "the 12(th) Dec in Nora Sjön".

Okay, thanks! That makes more sense, seeing as the death occurred in December. I know "Sjön" means lake, so I inferred drowning, but falling into the ice also makes sense. Thanks!

Okay, that's what I assumed. Is it meaning "North(ern) Lake?"

It is a lake in Nora, Örebro, Sveden

The place is called Nora, so the lake is sort of a lake of Nora
