Carolyn, this is Hannie Nel, I am the admin for Indexing South African Records on FamilySearch. We index the South African Projects. If you would like to come learn to index so we could get more projects online the easier it wil be to find your family. Do you know how to do research on The South Africa Collections. She may have more than one given name. I have seen Hester Pretoriuos's but with more than one name.

According to my Grandfather's fasmily bible he lists her as HesterSusanna Pretorius but the baptism record only shows Hester Pretorius her marriage certificate also indicates one name Hester. I have noticed the other Pretorius's with two names but the dates etc does not agree. I know for a fact that she stayed at Noupoort with my aunt but none of the Noupoort records shows a death notice. I even tried the Cradock death certificates as she was buried there no trace I also tried her married surname Els without any luck this is a mystery to me. My last resort is to check with the undertakers whom I am sure did the burial and then lastly the Department of Home Affairs but I do not have her ID number. I really have tried anyhing and I am conversant with the searching on Familytree
