I am trying to research my father who was from Freetown, Sierra Leone. He was born on the 8th August 1925. I believe his given name was Remi Farouk. he came to Birmingham, England in the late 1940's, early 1950. he married in 1955 to a Mavis Homer, by

this time his name was William Davies, he may possibly have taken his name from the company he was working for as a lorry driver, Davies/Turner. He died 12th March 2006 at Dudley Rd, hospital. I have tried to search the Sierra Leone records and come up with nothing. I would appreciate any help or signposts. regards, Linda Mccall

    Hi Linda,

I apologize for the late reply to your question. I looked at Remi Farouk in FamilySearch and added William Davies as an alternate name. He did marry Mavis Homer 1855 in Birmingham, West Midlands, England, United Kingdom under the name William Davies. Mavis was born in 1934 in West Midlands. Is she still living?

Thank you for using FamilySearch Community. Your post will remain and hopefully something will turn up.

    Carol
