Dear Titilola, I am not versed in Brazil genealogy, but I found this in the FamilySearch.org wiki.
Perhaps you have tried this search.
This site has quite a few resources.

Thank you,
I hope this is helpful.

Do you know the name of the town in Bahia where they lived? That would be helpful. FamilySearch has some Catholic Church records for parts of Bahia that may contain the information you seek.

Sadly a check of surviving documents yielded nothing more than Bahia as the place of birth of one child and the place of departure for Africa. Do you know of any company or individual that can conduct searches on this basis or is this a lost cause?

Perhaps in the Bahia state archives there might be records of departures or if they took out a passport prior to departure. Here is their website. http://www.fpc.ba.gov.br/ I am sorry I don't know what else to recommend.
