Hi Folks. I am looking at a census record on AKVZ.de. My ancestor is enumerated in 1769 in Hafkrug.
The "Beruf/Tätigkeit / Zusatz / Status" field says Fischer / - / Einlieger. He is listed in the "Hausholt Gebäude angzeign" with a family that doesn't appear to be related to him. His wife and children also appear in the same household. Am I correct in assuming that he is a fisherman and a day laborer? The Wohnstätte / Haus/ seit/ Grundbesitz says "Im Eigenkaten." Does this mean that he and his family live in a cottage on the property? The first person (who I don't believe is related) listed is a Halbhufner. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

From Ernest Thode's German-English Genealogical Dictionary:
Fischer= fisherman
Einlieger = free agricultural laborer
Halbhufner = farmer on a half-sized farm
Thode doesn't have a definition for "Eigenkaten" but he does have a definition for "Eigenkätner": "cottager with a garden (of his own)".
"Im Eigenkaten" = in one's own cottage
