What a beautiful compilation you have created, Dennis. It was very interesting and spans so many decades. I love that you have included the photographs of your family.
My house holds the art of my family; oil paintings by my mother-in-law, a painting and pottery crafted by my father, needlework of my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, pencil sketches by my great-grandfather and husband's uncle, who has also given us 35 or more that he wrote. My most recent acquisition is not a relatives, but, a gift from my dear 85-year-old neighbor who paints the most beautiful paint-by-number that I have ever seen!
You have given me a great suggestion to photograph the art and ask other family members to share what they have and create a digital collection to share! Thank you for sharing this idea and your family with us!

My great-grandmother, and her mother, wrote poetry, and my great-grandmother painted beautiful paintings for each of us that she is able to at this point. I think that those things are just as important to family history as dates and places, because they can help you to see that these were real people with hobbies and things that they enjoyed.

Dennis! You have such great ideas. If we just skip past the many links that you share, we miss so many gems. I love your collection and how you have put it together. This is inspiring. I'm listening to the Cowboy Poetry now.
