Carla, he writes Bosschstraat, means Forest-street.

In todays spelling we would write Bosstraat.

    And Gemente= Gemeente(municipality)

    Adrie,

Thank you so much. I did look it up on "street view" lovely land. Also in the document I did see "son-in-law_ Petrus Tuytschaever.. he married Stephania Stevens, daughter of Joannes.. a whole new group of information..I found in Nevele (1871-1880). With Paul- Marc's help on a few Latin baptimal records I was able to take this Stevens family back to: Livinius Stevens, b. unk. (but a baptismal record of Livinus’s son, Petrus b. 1772 does say “ Petrus, son of Livinus STEVENS, - Livinus is the son of JOANNES BAPTISTA ( paternal grandfather) of Lathem ( Sint- Martens- Latem Deurle= LAETHEM- SAINT- MARTIN- There are no records for this parish on FS) However.. in those other births that I recorded.. He states that his father is from St Martins Parish, Leerne.*

.d. 11 February, 1801, Drongen. ( no age given on church death record)> I looked for civil register for death, but could not find him in civil registration. Thanks again. Carla

    Bonjour Carla,

I think perhaps it's "Wijk Bosschtraat" (Bosschtraat area)

    Best regards - Paul-Marc

well , we have Bachte Maria Leerne i think this one belongs to admin, Deinze

    Sint Maria Leerne

    Sint Martens Latem

    Deurle

all of these are very close to each other.Could you give it a look under Deinze ?

Sint Martens Latem is small , but very well known for its beauty along the Leie, and place of residence

of very famous painters and writers.it was more or less the locality for the Flemish Primitives.

It's full of very expensive villa's.

Adrie, I did find him, but Livinius Stevens got married in 1759. And Judocus Joannes BAptista was born April 2, 1749. Too young. Carla

    Dear Adrie and Paul- Marc.

. I really don't think that the Stevens were IN St Martens Lathem.. at least not for baptismals. I just finished that roll..by 1736 the script was very very readable. I am now going to Leerne to see what I can find. Carla

    Adrie and Paul- Marc,

I went to all the church records that I could find and read and given the time frame of Livinius's marriage 1759. I found Nothing. Found girls.. a few boys.. wrong names and dates are too close to his marriage. Maybe tomorrow with a new set of eyes and a few more brain cells.. I will try again. I did do archives and nothing as well. Oh well. Have a great night.

Carla, with some of my ancestors it took me 38 years to find them, after they showed up, i also found their birth house, and it is still there.

And guess what, only few miles from here,...nice.

Never give up,it will pay off in the end.
