Hello, I am Mark E. Gardner and I will look to see what listing of indexes exist 1754-1830 for Church of England parishes. This would include baptisms, marriages, and burials. These two counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire have vast numbers of parishes and chapelries to work with. To this list, I think missing records or registers not deposited to a record office should also be listed. The websites I would consider for indexes to these two counties are FamilySearch, ancestry.com, findmypast, thegenealogist.co.uk and for Lancashire of Lancashire Online Parish Clerks. These websites have good coverage, but each website is incomplete for these two counties.

Try www.archersoftware.co.uk/igi/fs-eng.htm and click either county for a list of those parishes which have been indexed by Familysearch.org up to about 3 years ago. However, did you know you can tell up to the moment if a parish has been indexed (at Familysearch.org)? Here's how to find out:
go to www.familysearch.org/search and type in name of a parish or chapelry, i.e. Luddenden (Yorks); click to check-off the little "Exact Match" box; then click "Search".
Our system will then provide/return all names for you which have been indexed for that particular chapelry/parish. The fact that if and when entries do appear, indicates Familysearch has indexed the records for that specific parish (and/or census or other indexed records for that parish).
Also FYI:
We've listed for you below, the following websites which give you the best chance for locating your elusive Lancashire and Yorkshire ancestors:
LANCASHIRE:
- Familysearch - 21 million, including many Manchester entries now
- Ancestry – 12.6m, including numerous Manchester entries (plus Liverpool R. Cathl. – 2.4m)
- Lancashire Online Parish Clerk project - 8m
- Freereg – 30%
- Findmypast – 1.7m Manchester entries
YORKSHIRE:
- Findmypast.co.uk - 21.4m entries
- Ancestry.co.uk - 17.6m entries
- Familysearch.org - 12.1m entries
- Joiner marriage Index - 2m+ entries
- Sheffield Indexers - partial data; pre-1754 Cathedral CMB entries only
We hope this helps.

You can check by parish using ogindex.org. Lancashire and Yorkshire are some of the most complete counties in England for transcriptions and online records. Another resource is www.freereg.org.uk
