The entries for Toronto Gore, York in Canada West and Upper Canada can stay, at least for now, as Peel was a separate county on maps, but not separate politically, in that it had only a provisional local council until 1867.

Brampton was a village and later a small town, until 1974. It was only when it became a city on January 1, 1974 that it added these hamlets to its boundaries.
