Where could I find records for entrance into the US from Canada between 1890-1900?
I am looking for any and all records pertaining to a ghost of my family, my 2nd great grandfather, William Manley Holmes. He may have entered into the United States by way of Canada into Michigan between the ages of 14-26....We've been unable to obtain any actual information on him before 1903 when he was married in Tennessee. No birth records. He frequently changed the birth date and year (1874-1877) on any forms he filled out-there is no consistency. Oral family history indicates that he may have been born in England and run away from home around the age of 14/15 (1890ish).

See the list of records for Canada:

There are definitely record collections for the time period that you suggest.
Normally I would also recommend checking the records at SeekingMichigan, but the archive staff is out for Covid and I am getting some error messages. I have notified them to check their site.

Midwest - BrittanyWaldrop.
Do a search for him in Search Historical Records function of Family Search.
Put in his full name,
Put in the range of dates for birth,
Put in England as birthplace,
Scroll down to 'Restrict Records By", Choose "Type" of search.
Choose Immigration and Naturalisation.
Don't choose other things and don't fill in other fields, no matter how tempting. Scroll through the results. Look for your border crossings, not the naturalisations (for this search; keep the blinders on to answer "this" question). Have fun. Oh! One other pointer: don't fixate on Michigan as point of entry. There were many border crossing points. EDIT: Came back to add another tip. Try name with and without middle name.
