You're welcome! ๐ Jumping between old handwriting in various languages is always interesting. I'm fairly certain a deacon would never have been only 8 years old, but that does raise the question of who this deacon Dethmarus Sternberg is. At this point we don't know how he fits into the family, and unfortunately the death record did not list his age--but since he served in the church, I think it safe to assume he was at least a young man.
As for having two children with the same name, it's true that sometimes when a child died the next one was named after him/her, but there are also many times when there were simply two children who shared a given name. This seems odd to us nowadays, but it may have been that one child had an additional given name and went by that name, or it may be that they each went by their own version/nickname.
