Dear Group,

I need a "word help" please.. the last line after the word " dadelijk (date) this word _____? please. Could it be "overgemaakt- viewed?? I have tried every combination and to no avail. I looked at the other entries and do see a down stroke but.. nothing works. Thank you, Carla Image 86, entry 78 for Ivan Bertrand Julius PEERS

    Bonjour @carla ratcliff

I am not a specialist in Flemish, so I answer under the control of specialists in this forum ...

A priori, I read the words "op gemaakt"

This last sentence would mean "statement made immediately after reading aloud"

On the civil status acts in France, we very often read the expression "the witnesses signed after having read the act in a loud and intelligible voice"

    Best regards - Paul-Marc

    Paul- Marc...

THANK YOU!!! I had transcribed it together not apart " opgemaakt" No wonder I was getting no where!! This makes perfect sense. I shall copy this phrase and add to my list.. Your time and talents are most appreciated. Carla

Opgemaakt = formatted, compiled .. opgemaakt is the todays spelling.

    Adrie,

Silly me.. I was looking at 2 new words for me ( at least in this document)- aanzocht/aanzicht- requested / viewed AND opgemaakt- which I now know formatted, complied. Really having to learn to "think separate the words" Once again THANK YOU.

    Carla

Not complied but compiled , as in assembled, "made the assembly of all pieces"

Nothing is silly here, Carla, and nobody will make fun of others, without mistakes nobody will learn anything.

One of the difficulties ahead for you, is that words or terms have several meanings, depending on the use and context.
