Could someone please translate the information for the mother and father for Ole Marinius.

According to my father's genealogy, Ole Marinius was born Jan 20, 1884 in Nes, Hedmark, Norway. to Pauline Emilsdatter and Johan Edward Olsson. We don't think Pauline and Johan ever married. This is the first time that I've seen the Parish Records about his birth and baptism. SAH, Nes prestekontor, Hedmark, K/Ka/L0005: Parish register (official) no. 5, 1872-1886, p. 117

A handy bit of knowledge is that there are two sets of parish records for a lot of Norwegian Church history. An extra copy was made and it never spent the night under the same roof in case the original was destroyed somehow (fires were common)

So if you find a record where the handwriting is really difficult you should always check to see if the writing is more legible in the other book. And that's the case here...

Ole Marinius born 20 January 1884, christened 11 May 1884

Born out-of-wedlock to the unmarried girl Pauline Emilsdatter from vestre Byeie (By vestre) and unmarried man Johan Edwart Olsen from Magneskog (Mangskog) in Sweden

Johan born 19 May 1864 and Pauline 16 May 1864

    Witnesses:

Lady Martha Johansdatter Lilleskjelve, Maid Agnethe Gudbrandsdatter nedre Ousdal, Man Johannes Olsen Myhr, Edwart Johansen nordre Ousdal and Bernt Jørgensen ostre Skjelve.

This is the 4th out-of-wedlock child born in the parish in 1884 (out of 6 total :-) )

The information here was given by the mother and this was her first "illegitimate" child

(Revised - I found the right Pauline christened in August)

I swear you have the worst luck with handwriting...

In 1891 census for Stange, hedmark Pauline has married Ole Johannesen and her birthplace is given as Lillehammer

    Lillehammer was in Fåberg, Oppland

I'm pretty sure this is "your" Pauline half way down but I cannot make head nor tail of the parents names.

Maybe you will get some help from a Norwegian member

Here is the marriage (#23) of Ole Johannesen and Pauline Emilsdatter 18 December 1888 in Stange, Hedmark

Pauline's father is given as the unmarried man and laborer E Martinsen
