We had Lance McIntosh from FamilySearch give a presentation on Organizing Family History in Wards and Stakes at our Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group. It was a LIVE presentation. Anyone can view it from this link. Fast forward to 5 minutes when he starts. https://www.facebook.com/107368599368775/videos/358411021472163/

This is a fabulous help! I will be sharing it with many people!
I still have one question. If the consultants do not have a specific role in the ward plan can they still do things or should they just stay with what is defined in the ward plan? For example:
If the consultants want to put family history blurbs in the ward bulletin but it is not in the Ward Plan do they pursue that effort or not? If their role is not clearly defined in the Ward Plan do they just wait for an assignment or venture off the plan and determine for themselves who to meet with? I want to support and not overstep my bounds but I also want to do something. What do we do?

That can be frustrating for sure. I would try to communicate with the Elder's Quorum President to see what they would like, or if you have a called FH committee chair, then ask them and make suggestions. Ask them if you should continue the blurb, and if you should just keep meeting with ward members until they change it. They probably don't know what to do. Also, see if you can get your leadership to watch this. https://www.rootstech.org/video/2019-temple-and-family-history-leadership-instruction
Just my thoughts though.

The TFH Leader should be an active participant in the plan. The TFH leaders are suppose to attend ward council and help update the council on how the plan is working throughout the ward. As the TFH leaders, we can up with suggestions for the plan and presented it to the ward council. You can watch Elder Bednar's presentation about the ward council which included consultants and the leader.

Thanks for the Lance McIntosh recording. Sent it to the Elder's Quorum Counselor and the Bishopric Counselor assigned responsibility for Temple Family History, along with our Stake Temple Family History Consultant and the Bishop. Lance McIntosh does a great job of clarifying from the Priesthood perspective.

I have been doing a Family History Tip with our EQ counselor's blessing in both the weekly program and emailed bulletin. In the bulletin where there is more room, I frequently amplify the Tips with more detail. Recently I have been mining the FamilySearch Blog for ideas. I was not sure I was reaching anyone, but then a Sister who was sitting beside me who didn't know I did the Tips pointed one out to me and said she was going to try it. Hooray!
