Note the following: This death occurred in August 1856. The age of this child written in this record as 5 months is incorrect and should be: 1 year and 5 months based on his birth in March 1855.

Date of death and date of burial: died on the 14th of August [1856] at 3:00 am and was buried and blessed on the 16th [of August 1856].

Name of the deceased: Johann Hemmer, illegiitmate child of Anna Hemmer, an umarried maid.
Religion: Catholic.
Gender: male.
Age: 5 months [should be 1 year and 5 months].
Illness/Cause of death: "Fraisen" = convulsions/seizures.
Officiating cleric: Johann Seiner?, priest.

Thank you for catching my year of death mistake and for correcting the age. It seems odd that on his birth record a cross was included. It made me think that he died right after he was born, not 1 year and 5 months later.

A cross on a child's birth/baptismal record does not automatically mean the child died soon after birth. If a person died in the same parish in which they were born, the pastor/priest would frequently go back and mark the birth/baptismal record with a cross, sometimes even many years later.
