Not sure about the recorder mishearing - the surnames are all over the place for this family - some are Masciasek, Maćkowski and Maciejewski - Not sure why, but it took a long time to unravel - even the priest Józef Szablowski is part of the family (his sister married the brother of Marcin Maćkowski's wife) and records the surnames differently.
