I could swear I could upload a .txt file into sources but I have tried recently and it fills out all the info Date etc. even says its uploaded but then when I go to look at the document there is nothing there.

Am I nuts have I done this in the past or just forgot that I cant ???

Please advise??

@ColinM0288 I beleive records and sources are limited to digitized images or non-editable documents like PDFs. Thankfully, most software programs—like Word—make it easy to save text files as images or PDFs if needed.

    Thanks.

Well then the answer to the question is that I've lost my mind.🤤 I thought I had done this in past. Obviously not. I have converted text to .jpg and uploaded. The issue for me was that I had a record but it was completely unreadable, but I had a text copy of it. So I wanted to upload that with a citation.

I know that this is not your responsibility, but just a comment, as an aside it would be nice if the software then did not pretend to upload the file. Again perhaps my mind is losing it, because I WAS just proved WRONG, but when I upload the .txt file it seems to upload fine. But then when go to view it, it is not there. Unless I'm mistaken, then I apologise. Also as far as text files and disk space. I can imagine that familysearch must have to keep adding more and more storage all the time. .txt files take up the least amount of space on a disk. One would think that his would be helpful to them. Again just my thoughts to a wider audience not you.

Thank you very much for the help I will try to remember to "digitise" next time

    Regards.
