Thank you in advance! For my research, the most important words are the mothers' maiden names. Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Married 17 Oct 1875 Record 21 Oct.

    Gustave Groth

born 11 December 1851 at Wollin, ? Pom. (possibly an abbreviation for Pommern)

    son of Johann Groth and Ernestine nee Schutt;

    with

    Auguste Wilhelmine Therese Petersohn

born 2 March 1857 at Kirchhagen Wis.

daughter of Albert Petersohn and Ottilie nee Kalieb(e)

Witnesses: Carl Wanderste? , Emil Petersohn, Carl Hobuke?, Berta Petersohn, Louise Petersohn and Hermine? Groth

The brides place of birth is given as Wisconsin. I don't find a Kirchhagen there. But there is a Kirchagen : https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10966027 which is very near her parents marriage location in https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20968068

    according to this marriage record:

    https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/8798/records/9846990?tid=169712572&pid=182204722907&ssrc=pt

But the family came over in 1855 so she must have been born in Wisconsin. https://www.ancestry.com/search/collections/1068/records/5645602

The grooms place of birth might be this Wollin: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/21188030

I have a correction. I misread the birth location as Kirchhagen. It actually reads Kirchhayn Wis. Kirchhayn is very near Jackson Wisconsin where the family is living in the 1860 census.

    Greg,

    JohnsonGreg

I just found these and wonder if they would add anymore information, greater legibility? If it is unclear, I can send a better copy. Thank you again!!

This is a possible birth record for Ernestine? I see the location is not too far from the Wollin you shared the location of in the Meyers.

@aprilsaunders1 It looks like the first document was notes for the marriage record (2nd record you posted). It says much the same thing. The three witnesses that I had question marks for are clearer. They look like Carl Wanderse, Carl Hauke, and Hermine Groth. Under the groom it also says "Parishioner from Chicago". Under the bride it says "Parishioner here".

The birth record could possibly be your Ernestine Schรผtt if the year (not given on the snip) makes sense. But might not. https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10691016 is close to 50 miles from Wollin so it's not particularly close. The baptism record says Ernestine Sophia Therese Schรผtt was born 1 April and baptized 8 April (the year should be at the top of the page). Parents are the shepherd Christian Friedrich Schรผtt and his wife Maria Elisabeth nee Pagenkopp. Godparents were 1. Ernestine Sophia Fried[ericke] Schรผtt, married Schrรถder, 2 Sophia Louisa Kรถpke, 3 Christian Gottlieb Pagenkopp.

If you can find Gustav's baptism record and the marriage record for his parents then hopefully they will have enough information to confirm if this is Ernestine's baptism record.

If you do find them, it's best to post each as a new request/question. It can get confusing if added to an earlier question.

There is a limited online OFB (familybook) for Wollin here:

    https://www.online-ofb.de/wollin/?lang=de

Unfortunately it says that most of the records for Wollin have been lost. The OFB was created based upon available death records in the 1900s and other records that could be found. So, unfortunately, it doesn't have Gustav or his parents listed and is primarily residents who were there in the 1900s. It does have some Goths and some Schรผtts that could certainly be related but it may be difficult to connect them to Gustav ifearlier records cannot be found.

There is also an OFB for Kreis Greifenberg that seems to have a lot of information about the family/ancestors on the Kalliebe side of Auguste Wilhelmine Therese Peterson:
