Hello, Can anyone provide a translation/definition for this short entry in an OSB following a date of death? (TU: Dumpf).

Thank you,

SW

@Sheryl Sullivan Sharp Wildoner Can you share an image or the URL (link) to the record? Context is often critical, especially with abbreviations.
    Thanks.

    Hello @Sheryl Sullivan Sharp Wildoner,

If you have the book in hand, did you check either the front or the back of the OSB to see if a list of abbreviations is provided? Look for the word "Abkürzungen" = abbreviations.

I found one place called "Dumpf" in Meyers Gazetteer: https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/10383021

As suggested, please provide an image or a link so we can see the entry in context.

Yes I checked the abbreviation list and did not see that. Never thought to check Gazeteer. This is a snip from the OSB. I did not get the book online. No URL. The notation appears after the death date. Thanks

Does this abbreviation appear anywhere else in the book? Perhaps more context might help figure out what it means. E.g. is TU: used with any other word or only with Dumpf? If that other word is a town name, this might indicate that Dumpf is a town rather than a person (possibly source author).
