    Before the undersigned civil registrar appeared today the innkeeper Karl Adam Wahler, personally known, residing in Offenbach in the Herrnstrasse no. 27, Catholic religion, and reported that from Martha Wahler, née Haecker, his wife, Evangelical [Protestant] religion, residing with him, at Offenbach in his residence on the 12th of June of the year 1878, in the morning at 8:15 am a child of the male gender was born who received the forename Karl.

    Read aloud, approved, and signed: Karl Wahler.
    The Civil Registrar, by proxy: [signature].

    Certified to be in agreement with the Main Register,
    Offenbach, on the 15th of June 1878.
