Help Please!
I'm writing from Uruguay: I've been trying to learn more about my family in Italy for some time. My great-great-grandfather emigrated from Italy to Uruguay, but I haven't been able to find any ship's documents. My great-great-grandfather was Bernardo Puglia Pricolo, born on December 14, 1842, in Saponara di Grumento, Basilicata. Based on marriage documents and birth records, I've been able to estimate that Bernardo arrived in Uruguay between 1880 and 1885. But at the port, they told me that the records for those years were lost in a fire here. I can't find any other information about Bernardo's parents and grandparents, except that they were Giuseppe Puglia and Veronica Pricolo di Tuccio.
Any help is well recived!

From what I can see, after doing just a quick search, Bernardo Puglia was born 13-Dec-1842. The birth was reported on 14-Dec-1842.
His parents were Giuseppe Puglia, son of Antonio, age 30, and Veronica Pricolo, age 26.https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19181299/5xKpe8a
He was baptized 14-Dec-1842. This is the baptism return form the parish confirming dates of birth and baptism.

You mentioned birth and marriage records. Do you have additional information about Bernardo? For example, when did Bernardo marry? What was his wife's name, etc…
I'll take a look and see if I can locate Giuseppe and Veronica's birth records. But please let me know if you already found them.
If we can find when Giuseppe Puglia and Veronica Pricolo were married, we may be able to find much of the information you are seeking.

Hi! Thank you so much for your help, I didn´t know he was baptized.
I did find a lot of information from Bernardo all the way to my grandpa, here is the link: https://www.familysearch.org/es/tree/person/details/MK7C-VPG
But from Bernardo Parents and Grand-Parents I know nothing at all, I did find that Bernardo Grandfather was named Antonio Puglia but that´s all. The thing that truly has me on a roll is when did he arrived to Uruguay, there are no documents in the years that I thought he came to this country (1880-1885) due to a fire on the port. I assume due to proximity that he took a boat in the Naples port.1 -
I think by now you may have realized that the ages listed on various documents are often estimated or incorrect. A good example of that is the marriage document from Montevideo, Uruguay for Bernardo and his wife Maria Giuseppa Toscana (Josefa Toscana) #70 located here: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJY-NSH1-4
The marriage took place 17 Jun 1885 and Bernardo is stated to be 38 years old, but then it goes on to say he was born in 1842!
So, please keep that in mind as we proceed.
I already gave you the link for Bernardo's birth and baptism.
This is the birth record for his wife, Maria Giuseppa Toscana (Josefa Toscana): https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19181125/LpKRQml
#127 - She was born 19-Dec-1855 to Giovanni Toscana and Fedele La Salvia. It is possible that the mother listed in the marriage record for Josefa, Maria Caballo, is a step mother or 2nd wife of Giovanni (Juan).
Bernardo's parents were Giuseppe Puglia and Veronica Pricolo. The ages for them used on Bernardo's birth document were a bit incorrect.
Giuseppe Puglia married Veronica Pricolo on 21-Apr-1833. See here: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19180879/0ZRlxbp
Note: ages on marriage documents are usually very reliable. Giuseppe is listed as 29 (so, about 1804). Veronica is listed as 23 (about 1810). These are very accurate. We also learn the names of Giuseppe's and Veronica's parents from this document. Giuseppe's parents are listed as Antonio Puglia and Rosa Ciuffo. Veronica's parents are listed as Domenicantonio Pricolo and Rosalia Sacco.
Their marriage leads us to the Processetti for their marriage, which consists of their birth record extracts and public notification of the marriage. The Processetti starts here at Image 201/254: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19180719/029lpdG
This leads to the birth/baptismal record for Giuseppe, Image 203/254: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19180719/5gRPZY1
This tells us Giuseppe was baptized 29 Mar 1804 (and, probably born the same day).
The next page is the extract for Veronica's birth, Image 204/254: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua19180719/LqKeo1X
Since she was born after 1809, we can then get her actual birth record #68 here: https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/ark:/12657/an_ua359636/wj4xzX8
Veronica was born 23 Jun 1810. Her father is listed as Domenicantonio, age 40. Her mother is listed as Rosalia Sacco.
I know you are seeking immigration reocrds, but those do not seem to exist. But, I do believe all of the above gets you the missing information you are truly seeking.
The next step would be to look for death records for all of these people that did not emigrate to Uruguay.
I hope all of this helps you in your research.
