Finnish 1878 military draft
I'm looking for the 1878 Military draft records because I believe I can find records of my ancestor who was from Finland but we can't find any record of him from before he lived in the US. From what we know he changed his name to escape the Russian standing Army. This is the only draft that matches his story. So I'm hoping to find the records to see if I can find him in them.

The Finnish National Archives (Astia) is supposed to have military records, but I haven't ever used them. Searching in Astia requires using Finnish language terms (English doesn't seem to get any results). The term for "conscript" in Finnish is "asevelvollinen". So searching for "asvelv*" (asterisk is a wildcard) and time period "1878-1878" and only "digital material" gets some results, but I don't know if they are what you are looking for.
