In the year 1868 tenth of the month Juli at seven hrs in the morning, before us , Hippolythe Lypaert, mayor and civil registrator of the civil office in the municipality of Vinkt, judicial arrondisement of Gent,
province Oost-Vlaanderen,did appear;Pieter Francies Stevens, gardener,(hovenier), living at Vinkt and
born at Merendree on the 8th of January 1830 as his
birthcertificate showed,and of legal age, unmarried son of Joannes Baptiste Stevens, without occupation,living at Landegem,and present here giving approval.And Maria-Therese-Verhegge, deseased at Nevele on the 16 th of November 1858
as the deathcertificate has shown,and was handed out on 28 of May of this past year, (Ten Een ére)..
(for the first representation), and Clementina Poelvoorde -farmster and living and born at Vinkt at the 21 th December 1844 as the birthcertificate showed,of legal age and unmarried legal daughter of Leo Poelvoorde and Regina Van (Poucke) (Poecke ?)
farmers and living at Vinkt, present here and giving permission,(Ten Andere) (what has to be done) the comparants request from us to perform the marriage, of which the legal announcements were made public in in the town of Deinze and already lays in the past,the first Sunday of May 31 before this,(laatstleden)and the second announcement,the second Sunday 17 Juli this running month of this year; each time at 8 hr in the mornings as is requested by law,and there is nothing to contradict
this marriage,providing judicial right of way for their request; did we , after reading out aloud and
showing the deeds that were mentioned here,

We do declare in name of the law, that Pieter Francies Stevens and Clementina Poelvoorde are
united by marriage; which marriage was performed publicly on the townhall,in the presence of Pierre De Roo, farmer living at Aarsele aged 45 years and Camiel De Vliegher (Kuiper*)aged 40 years, August
De Vliegher,(kuiper)aged 28 years and Camille Lypaert specific aged 32 , the 3 mentioned persons are witnesses and were requested to be present at the reading out aloud,
then some legal terms, and the signing of all the comparants.

This helps tremendously!! I have been up in the catalogs and have been able to track Pieter STEVENS family.. brothers and sisters. I also have tried to transcribe the death record for his sister Stephania Stevens. Your information now gives me birth dates as well as a death date for the mother Maria Theresia Verhegge. I do know from the death record of Stephania Stevens that father- Joannes Baptiste STEVENS was born about 1814, from Landegem. Would you be willing to look at the record and my transcription and translation ?? Thank you again Carla
