Data entered in to CET tree and not kept or saved by the database

I recently added a whole generation of ancestors into my CET tree fan chart. I put in one person at a time and put in exact dates and exact places for each ancestor's birth and death. I was disappointed to find after many hours of work, only on a few of the ancestors was some of the data kept by the database. I am including screenshots. For all of these people in the fan chart graphic with white backgrounds, I entered places for birth and death. This is the setting to see places of birth. As you can see, only a couple of them had the place of birth saved by the database. In another graphic, I have a person in the tree whose data for birthplace and date, and for death date and place, I had just barely entered in. None of this data was kept by the system.

This happens only when I am creating a new person in the tree. If I create a person and go to the person page to enter it in, it saves the data. When I am creating a new person and try to put the dates in, the data doesn't save.

@MrsLCJ Thank you for reporting this. We are looking into why you may have run into this. I show you reported the issue on Aug 24th. Was this the day you encountered the problem? Are there other days, timeframes where you encountered this? Might help us track it down. Sorry you are running into this issue.

@MrsLCJ I notice that 2 of your 3 screen captures show the set as MrsLCJ Private Resaerch, but the 3rd screen capture shows the person page for Harry Stonewall Jackson in the Shared Family Tree with PID KWC2-NDG.

Is it possible that you added the data to one tree, but were looking in a different tree when you did not see the data that you entered?

    Always Strange,

About a week before I reported to you this problem, I had this issue. About a week before that, I also had this issue.

    Robert Kehrer,

I was copying data from the worldwide tree to the CET tree.

    Robert Kehrer,

I know many if your CET users are bringing data in from work they have done in programs like Legacy 9 or Roots Magic. I know that my method is unusual. I trust much of what is in FamilySearch's worldwide tree because I have been using this tree a long time and fixing errors in it for many years. I am interested in the CET tree for having a separate version of data and connections farther back in the tree. As CET tree did not have the option to copy pueces from the worldwide tree into a CET version, I started my CET tree with only myself or my daughter in it. Then I added to the tree manually one person at a time.

While entering in a new person, I would look at the worldwide tree to find the next ancestor's name, dates and places. I entered them into my CET tree one person at a time.

If I just put a name in and move on and later, go in and input dates and places for birth and death, it keeps the dates and places for birth and death.

However, if when putting a person in, I add the data for birth and death dates and places, and try to save it, for some reason, it only saves the person's name.

That is the issue I see.

Just a note. In the near future, prob measured in days-a few weeks, we will be introducing a new tool that will allow you to align the people in your tree with the Shared Family Tree. It will make it easier to copy conclusions, sources and entire persons from one tree to another.

That's wonderful news! Will that make it so that this problem I am having now, won't matter?

Yes. It will make copying data and people between trees as easy as a single click (after you’ve throughly evaluated the appropriateness of the action of course).

Expect us to roll this out in phases with the first release informing you of people in your tree who are not in the Shared Family Tree and making g it easy to add them if you judge they should be added. Subsequent releases will show you all matches between trees.

Everyone on my CET tree is also in the shared worldwide tree, to date.
