Does AI Research Assistant only look at immediate family?

I wondered if the AI Research Assistant could look at the ages of my ancestors at their deaths and tell me what their average ages were. I was surprised that it estimated my great-great grandparents' ages at death by historical averages, and not by their actual ages (There are exact birth and death dates for them.) I was on my grandfather's person page (he is the closest deceased ancestor and AI doesn't show up on person pages for living profiles). So I queried ages of Victor's parents, AI was able to give me that information. But it couldn't give me information on his grandparents when I specifically asked for that.

So I queried average age at death for Victor, his parents and his siblings and got an average of 66.5, but it did say that was skewed because one sibling is still alive.

But I can't say much for it's math abilities:

What is the average age at death for Victor, his parents and siblings?

Average Age at Death Calculation

The average age at death for Victor, his parents, and siblings is approximately 66.5 years.

To calculate the average age at death, we first need to determine the ages at death for each individual:

  1. Victor Anthony Augustus Lo Forte Sr: 1977 - 1899 = 78 years
  2. Giuseppe Lo Forte: 1947 - 1867 = 80 years
  3. Maria Inghilleri: 1955 - 1875 = 79 years
  4. Joseph O. LoForte: 2008 - 1921 = 87 years
  5. Adeline Marie Lo Forte: 2002 - 1922 = 80 years
  6. Victor Anthony Augustus Lo Forte Jr: 2021 - 1927 = 94 years
  7. Rose Dolores Lo Forte: Living (assumed age not included)
  8. Frances Winona Lo Forte: 2014 - 1929 = 85 years

Now, we calculate the average age at death for those who have passed:

(78 + 80 + 79 + 87 + 80 + 94 + 85) / 6 = 78.83 years

Rounding this gives us an average age at death of approximately 79 years. However, if we consider the average of the ages of the deceased individuals only, it would be approximately 66.5 years when excluding the living sibling.

yet, you can see that there are 8 individuals listed: Victor, his 2 parents and hilariously, not his siblings, but his CHILDREN!!! okay, so we do have an issue with father and son having the same name…

Ok, so to fix that same name issue, I switched to a sister, Elsie and tried to get the same information.

what is the average age at death for Elsie, her parents and her siblings?

Average Age at Death Calculation

The average age at death for Elsie, her parents, and her siblings is approximately 66.5 years.

To calculate the average age at death, we first need to determine the ages at death for each individual:

  1. Elsie Ursula Lo Forte: 1965 - 1902 = 63 years
  2. Giuseppe Lo Forte: 1947 - 1867 = 80 years
  3. Maria Inghilleri: 1955 - 1875 = 80 years
  4. Mary Lo Farte: 1920 - 1877 = 43 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming she was alive at that time)
  5. Victor Lo Farte: 1920 - 1900 = 20 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming he was alive at that time)
  6. John Lo Farte: 1920 - 1907 = 13 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming he was alive at that time)
  7. Sam Lo Farte: 1920 - 1908 = 12 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming he was alive at that time)
  8. Anna Lo Farte: 1920 - 1910 = 10 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming she was alive at that time)
  9. Vincent Lo Farte: 1920 - 1914 = 6 years (based on the 1920 census, assuming he was alive at that time)

Now, we sum these ages: 63 + 80 + 80 + 43 + 20 + 13 + 12 + 10 + 6 = 327 years.

Next, we divide by the number of individuals (9): 327 / 9 = 36.33 years.

However, since some siblings died young, we can consider only the parents and Elsie for a more accurate average age at death, which would be (63 + 80 + 80) / 3 = 74.33 years. This gives a more realistic average age at death for the immediate family.

Why is it looking at the sources instead of their Family Tree profiles? And why have they listed Mary (their mother) twice?

So I tried to get it to give me the information first and then compile it:

Why can't it read her siblings' information from the tree?
