Lutzelfluh - Baptism - 1752 - Kiffer - Elsbeth

Below is the URL for a baptism record in Lutzelfluh, Bern Canton, for Elsbeth Kiffer baptized on 18 Jan 1732. The record comes from an auswärtige Bürger part of the records and indicates she was actually baptized in Kilchberg but the baptism was registered in Lutzelfluh. I found two Kilchberg's in Switzerland: 1) Kilchberg, Basel, and 2) Kilchberg, Zurich. When I look for the actual baptism record in both of those Kilchberg's I cannot find it. Does anyone know if there are any other Kilchberg's in Switzerland?

In fact, there are four more: Kirchberg BE, Kirchberg SG, Kirchberg TG and Kirchberg AR. They differ in a single letter: Kirchberg instead of Kilchberg. Even in the same canton, the r becomes an l, depending on the area you live in.
Elsbeth Küpfer was actually baptized in Kirchberg BE. I found the corresponding entry in the Taufrodel 8 on page 211. It reads

    A[nn]o 1732
sind folgende Kinder allhier getauft worden:

    In 1732
the following children were baptized here:
January 18: a legitimate child named Elsbeth was baptized.
parents: Joseph Küpfer, baker in Kirchberg, Barbara Bichsel
witnesses: Hans Äbi the merchant, Barbara Widmer, Elsbeth Gygax all from Kirchberg

Daniel, thank you very much! I hadn’t even thought of a different spelling. Sending me a copy (and translation) of the record went the extra mile. Now I can look in the Kilchberg Parish for possibly more children.

Just to avoid any misunderstandings: There was no official spelling in the 18th century. People wrote the way they pronounced things. Today we make a very precise distinction between whether we are talking about Kilchberg or Kirchberg! 😁
