General questions regarding records
1) On Arkivdigital, when there are gaps in time periods for records (for instance Household Examination Records for a parish are missing a five year period in between other five year periods, or birth records for a certain time period are missing) can I assume that those records are not extant, or is it possible that they are extant and not yet digitized? If they still could be extant is there a list somewhere that names records that are extant, but not yet digitized?
2) I understand the dates recorded in the Household Examination Records for Exams and Communion, etc. However, when there are numbers in the other comment columns (for example, Living and Sickness) do the numbers still represent dates? If so, how can you tell what year? Also, how can the situation it is referring to be identified?
Thank you!

1 All records should be digitized. If you are unsure, you can also check sok.riksarkivet.se Swedish National Archive if they have those same records.
2 can you give an example of those other numbers. Sometimes they are dates, sometimes something else, e.g. pages

Above is one example.
Also, in the image below there appear to be the gothic letters a and n to the left of the names- or perhaps what I think is an "a" is simply a check mark? Do theses letters have any meaning? I'm not sure of the word at the top left in slightly different ink, so maybe that has something to do with the meaning?
