Ah the mistakes of AI again !
I print this more for cathartic reasons than anything else.
It's unfortunate how the scraping or AI reading of documents makes very unfortunate errors. Yes I have commented on this before. But here is another that created some confusion by me.
The electoral roll document looks like this…
East Sussex, England, Electoral Registers, 1705-1963 - AncestryLibrary.com
I was interested in Persons #2. Ancestry listed them as ..
Street Address | 8 Isabel 5 the Lawns St. Maryâs Close |
|---|---|
Residence Place | Sussex, England |
"I noticed that the address listed as '8 Isabel 5 The Lawns, St. Mary's Close' was strange, —it couldn't even get 'St. Mary's' right. The actual address is not '8 Isabel,' but I struggled to figure out where the street named 'Isabel' was. After searching Google and maps with no success, someone pointed out that at the top of the document, there was a person named 'Isabel.' That's when it clicked—the false street name had come from that a name it was not a street. I felt pretty foolish. And to make matters worse, the record list in this document lists the following…"
It seems that "Isabel" has been added to all the addresses—unfortunately. I attempted to use the correction button for document errors, but it only redirected me to a page that doesn’t exist. So now, the mistake remains indefinitely.
As one of you insightful individuals pointed out to me before (though perhaps in more diplomatic terms), I tend to be overly meticulous. Documents often contain errors, which I’ve learned to accept—though sometimes I need a reminder.
Anyway that's my little warning to myself and people like me. 😀
Regards.
