Kajetan Jaskółowski - weaver to estate manager?
Hi,
This question is about the occupation(s) held by Kajetan Jaskółowski between the years 1860 and 1880.
In 1860 he was a weaver (tkacz) [ref 1]. Between 1861 and 1866 he worked with linen – which I believe was more skilled and specialized niche work within the broader textile industry (plociennik) [ref 2].
However in 1868, he became estate manager (wlodarz) [ref 3]? This seems odd; transitioning from industrial work in textiles – typical of Lodz Voivoship at that time - to agricultural management. I think this may have been an error, or maybe “wlodarz” became a term used for a factory manager? In any case, all subsequent records are in Russian. Can someone take a look at Kajetan’s occupation in the records from [ref. 4]? No need for full translations.
