Currently there are 7 Babiak communities on map of Poland. There are many people with surname Kmiec. Which Babiak community is the one where your ancestors were from? We cannot trace the birth record of Wladyslaw Kmiec born in Babiak year 1928, due to privacy restriction of 100 years for births. Please let us know which Babiak your family is from and we will try to assist you.

It is difficult, as there are not many records from Babiak, Kolo, Poznan, which are indexed. I was not able to locate the birth record of Wawrzyniec (Laurentius) Kmiec in 1873 year, in Babiak, or his marriage in Poznan Project. Babiak records have not been indexed in basia.famula.pl

    1. You may review records for those ancestors in MyHeritage, but most of the entries show that those who entered the information know less about your ancestors than what you already know. It is a subscription site about $150.00 per year, but it is free in familyhistory centers or libraries in your neighborhood.
    2. You may contact Archiwum Państwowe w Poznaniu Oddział w Koninie, their email is: konin@poznan.ap.gov.pl Website: http://poznan.ap.gov.pl who have some records from Babiak. You may review what they have in szukajwarchiwach and search for Babiak, Kolo. But most of their records show "0" which means they have it, but will research it for a fee. You may write to them in English. Their research may require that you prove your relationship with Wladyslaw Kmiec, but it is still cheaper than travelling to their archives and not being able to access their records, due to privacy restrictions for the last 100 years. They will charge you even if their research does not show that they found your records. If they could find the birth record of Wladyslaw Kmiec, it would help you with your research. Also they may have access to indexed records and find the marriage record of Wladyslaw Kmiec and Krystyna Skalska. Their marriage could be in her parish, not necessarily in Babiak, and the archives would want you to give approximate date. To review Polish records in szukajwarchiwach you may listen to instructions in Polish Community - Polish Resource Links, the first item. Good luck with your research.
